Donation goal reached!!! Thank you again this year for your support for my Ride 2 Conquer Cancer.  As of last week, I am at 105% of my $2500 goal.

Now it is all about the ride and getting this 74 year old body in shape.  On June 7 and 8, I will be joining 4000 other cyclists on a 220 kilometre ride from Toronto to Niagara intent on raising some $30 million for cancer research at the renowned Princess Margaret Hospital.  This is my 3rd Ride, and I will be riding with my twin brother (also happens to be 74), my son-in-law and good friends as part of the Amby’s community team.

I have my training schedule in place.  My goal is 3 training rides of 30 to 40 km per week along Toronto’s Waterfront Trail, plus some mountain biking around our Stoney Lake cottage.  This worked last year.   Also I am taking some better wet weather gear gifted from my daughter.  I hope this avoids a repeat of last year when I really suffered through  the last few kilometres with sleet and hail, and without a rain jacket.

Next posting will be some photos and stories about ride weekend.  If you are keen to support the Ride with a donation, please go to Ride to Conquer Cancer.  I believe they are still looking for volunteers, so that is also a great way to get involved.

Thanks again.
