Westfield Heritage Village – A Glimpse of Ontario History

Cathy and I, with our grandson, visit  Westfield Heritage Village  for a glimpse of Ontario history.  The village is a good daytrip as it is about a one hour drive west of Toronto and north of Hamilton.  It is an easy and accessible walk amongst the 40+ buildings that go back as far as 1775.  There is also a vintage train and train station.  You may recognise the train station as it was featured in the movie Anne of Green Gables and the TV series Road to Avonlea.  Sunday afternoons are when the village comes alive as tours are available through the buildings.  There are several hiking trails around the village as well.  This day we cut our visit short due to a heavy rain.  We will definitely be back.
