Learning about Rugby and the All Blacks

Cathy and I spend time learning about Rugby and the All Blacks.  After all, we are in New Zealand and rugby to Kiwis is like ice hockey to us Canucks.  I spend an afternoon in Christchurch watching the local Crusaders team take on and prevail over the Brisbane Reds.  This is high calibre rugby and part of the Super Rugby Series.  7 All Blacks players are on the Crusaders team and the 40,000 people in the stands have high expecations.  And yes, the Crusaders prevail.

A few days later, we take in the All Blacks Experience in Auckland.  This is a 90 minute immersive experience into the dressing room, the haka and a chronology of victories back to 1901.  And there is a opportunity to be hands on with kicking and passing the ball.  You can see that Cathy does an amazing job putting on her haka face.  This gets a lot of people’s attention.  My haka face is OK too.
