Our travel plans for 2025 are awesome.  Please join us as we visit new countries, have new adventures and tell new stories.

Australia and New Zealand

We are heading for the first time to Australia and New Zealand.  Our plan was to do this trip in 2026, however we saw a good deal over Christmas holidays for a seniors adventure guided tour. In our typical spontaneous manner, we are now booked and heading out mid February for 30 days.  Cathy and I are doing this trip with Overseas Adventure Travel .  They come highly recommended, and they do much good work through their Foundation.  Stay tuned for some posts where we will share some incredible experiences.   (A short commercial – If you check them out and decide to book with them as a first time customer, please mention that you have been referred by me, Joe Molnar and my customer # 3260825.  You will recieve a discount on your trip and we will recieve a credit as well.  Seems like a win-win.)

Hilton Head

Shortly after we return, Cathy and I will take our annual late April roadtrip from Toronto to Hilton Head, South Carolina.  Family will be joining us and cycling, golf, tennis, pickleball, pool & beach time and some babysitting will be on our agenda along with some lowcountry eats.  Usually we add some extra time to the drive to go a bit off the beaten path – once the Outer Banks, another time the Blueridge Parkway.  Since our route goes through the famous New River Gorge in West Virginia, perhaps this year we will spend a bit more time at the Gorge.  Look  here for more on our other trips to Hilton Head.

Stoney Lake

We will spend several winter getaways, plus most of our summer, at our lake cottage on Stoney Lake, Ontario, Canada.  So lots of day trip and lake posts.    Here  is a previous post about Stoney Lake in the winter

Minivan camping along the Wine Trail in Southwestern Ontario

In the early fall, Cathy and I will re-convert our minivan for camping.  In 2024 we did a $500 DIY minivan camping conversion and camped successfully through Atlantic Canada .  This year, our idea is to travel along the North Shore of Lake Erie and explore this up and coming wine district.  Along the way, we will boast about visiting the furthest south part of Canada.  The Point Pelee sand spit stretches miles south into Lake Erie and is at the same latitude as Northern California.  It is famous in the bird watching community for the migratory birds that pass through Pelee.

Toronto

Cathy and I will continue to do  daytrips in Toronto and vicinity, based from our condo in Olde York (the oldest part of Toronto).  Check them out if you are planning to visit our city.

That is it for our travel plans for 2025 for the time being — until we get spontaneous and change them again.  Its great to be retired.
