Cathy and I are spending a few days camping on Prince Edward Island. We arrive on Prince Edward Island by crossing the 8 mile long Confederation Bridge with high wind warnings and sheets of rain that are the remains of a tropical depression. No camping tonight, rather we stay in a neat little cottage. Side note: it took 4 years to build the 8 mile Confederation Bridge in icey ocean conditions. So why 3 years to replace 1 mile of the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto. Makes me wonder who is in charge.
Enough being grumpy. PEI has wonderful views and sunsets.
We stay at PEI National Park Cavendish Campground. Our site C007 is small and no trees due to Hurricane Fiona that did a direct hit in 2022. The plus is a nice view to the Gulf.

With Cathy’s Idaho heritage, more interesting to us is the Potato Museum. Their restaurant has excellent lobster rolls. And the gift shop is everything potato. We indulge in potato fudge.
In Carlottetown we walk the red self guided tour of the Old Town. This city is famous as the birthplace of Canada’s Confederation. The irony is that while Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick signed on, the host PEI waited several years to extract a better deal. After our walk, we enjoy some excellent chowder and mussels at the Water Prince Corner Store by the docks.
This afternoon we are taking a 5 hour ferry from Souris PEI north to the Magdalen Islands in the Gulf of St Lawrence. Stay tuned. And Our Atlantic Roadtrip tells our whole story.
