Cinnabun heaven

Map Pancake Bay to Calgary (2)We try to spend some of our days off the Trans Canada highway, as we spend four days across the immensity of northern Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.  The temptation is to rip along the Trans Canada, however we do  best when we explore.  We finally found our fresh and smoked Lake Superior whitefish at The Fish Shop in Coral Bay, Ontario, and then were taken to a private lookout over the Lake and the Sleeping Giant.  We listened to the Biivvers rock Saturday night at Winnipeg Beach.  Over the best cinabuns in all of Mortalach, Saskatchewan, Cathy learned more about her Welsh / Calgary heritage from the Welsh proprietor.  However most amazing is our chance encounter with Ian and Louise at the Alberta Welcome Centre.  They are also camping across the country and we meet up with them again in a week at our (and their) nephew’s wedding in Whistler.

This is a major leg of our trip to the Arctic and up the infamous Dempster Highway.  So what’s ahead?  Here is a post about some time a few weeks later as we go  Off the Grid .
