Cathy and I are surprised today about just how nice is the historic part of Port Perry. Usually we travel straight east on the 401 from our downtown condo in Toronto and then north on 35/115 through Peterborough to our cottage on Stoney Lake. Today we decide to take a route less travelled and that finds us in Port Perry at lunch time, and curious about the historic town center.
We do lunch on the patio of Marwan’s Global Bistro on Queen Street. The burger is excellent. Several of Marwan’s on-tap beers are from the Old Flame Brewing Company that is just around the corner. I like the Red.
After lunch we walk to the shores of Lake Scugog and take in a car show. A few vehicles catch my eye. I especially like the 1942 Packard. I think it has a bit of a modern Bentley look. The VW Bug RV is one of a kind and how about the lowered (slammed) pickup truck. And you have got to love a Trans Am
