One Day in St George, Utah

Cathy and I have told you a lot about our hikes around St George and Zion in Utah.  However here are a few things we would recommend if you have one day that you want to spend in town.

Start your morning at one of the excellent and inexpensive municipal golf courses.  This day, we play the front 9 at  St George Golf Club .  Watch out for the tricky 9th hole.  Next week we play at the Dixie Red Hills  course that  is an 11 for beauty as the fairways meander through the red rock cliffs.

After golf, head over to the  Tuacahn Theater  complex near Snow Canyon.  There is a crafts market on Saturdays.  The on site cafe is a good lunch stop.  The fish sandwich is excellent, the bean salad less so.

In the afternoon, we visit the  Dinosaur Discovery Site .  The building is built over the site of dinosaur tracks.   Paleontologists are actively working on additional discoveries in what was a giant lake bottom tens of million years ago.

If you still have the energy, head over to the Old Town and get an ice cream cone or float at Judd’s Store.  Try out the carousel that is in the park right across the road.

Enjoy.
