Temple of Sinawava, Zion Canyon, Utah

Scroll down to content

Cathy and our sister-in-law Sue spent a day at Zion to hike the Temple of Sinawava Trail, and then, to do some power shopping in Springdale at the South Gate to Zion National Park.   The trail to the Temple is wheel chair accessible with a mild grade and well graveled, so it is ideal for folks with mobility issues.  The trail follows the Virgin River to the point that it emerges through slot canyon walls from the north.  On this day, most folks had on fishing waders so that at that point they could walk in the river and through the slot canyon.  (You can rent the fishing waders in Springdale.)  You can see the snow on the trails so it is very impressive for these folks to be doing this adventure in such cold water.   Kudos to them.   Cathy and Sue are more into having some hot tea and lunch at  Oscar’s Cafe in Springdale.  They recommend the salmon salad and fish tacos.
