One day in Sedona, Arizona

One day is not enough time to see Sedona, however that is how much time Cathy and I had and here is how it worked out.  We drove up Interstate 17 and Highway 179 from Phoenix, and did our return looping through Cottonwood on Highways 89A and 260, with the final leg backtracking on Interstate 17.

We loved the drive and the scenery, until we got to Sedona.  Still beautiful with the red rocks, however it was one giant traffic jam.  What we did do was have an excellent lunch at the Cress on Oak Creek Restaurant, with a very private table outside alongside the creek.  So we were full and again happy.

We thought a hike would be in order.  Again, the close-to-town trails were totally parked up with cars.  What we did was head out to the Mescal Mountain Trail.  It was not too busy and a moderate climb.  So, all in all, a good day.
