Cathy and I spend our last day in Yellowstone walking the Upper Geyser Basin and relaxing around the Old Faithful Inn. These folks left the boardwalk and walked across the crust to get close-up with a bull bison. Pretty stupid. A couple of days later in the news, we read that a person went off the boardwalk and fell into a hot pool.
We enjoyed our stay in the Old House in the Old Faithful Inn, right beside the Old Faithful Geyser in the Upper Geyser Basin. I am pointing at our room 242 in the gable. We were able to walk right from our front door into the basin.
On our way back to the Jackson Hole Airport (about a 2 hour drive) from Yellowstone, it was a brilliant blue bird morning and the Grand Tetons were at their best. A great way to end a great vacation.
